Holding the Keys
Did you realize that when you are doing research on most anything these days, that you as the consumer are holding the answer? Search engines have become very smart in being able to match your query to the right materials online, so how you search to find what you need is the key to getting what you want.
Take for example, the case of someone looking for help in home renovations in the Atlanta area. They could search on Atlanta roofing companies, and they will be shown many sites from different local competitors. It matters too, where they originate the search from, as Google now shows local results to local searchers. So if you wanted to see these local results, you’d want to be sure that you are searching from a location seen as local.
It is not always a benefit to be shown the localized results though, as sometimes they are too slanted in a particular way, and they don’t offer enough variety. This means that you should check them as a local search, but also compare them to a broader search, done from a different location of origin. It may not mean you do anything beyond switching your location, but this simple thing can show you much different search results.
The bottom line, is that searching for what you need is something that takes a bit of time and skill to manage properly. It seems easy, but it is kind of misleading, in that it is only easy if you are getting the results you want. By simply changing the location you are searching from, you can create different sets of results, and most likely find the offers you are truly seeking. It may not be obvious, but in most cases you as the individual doing the searches are holding the keys!
